The outline below describes our basic approach for designing and developing web sites. This proven process assures that your site is developed effectively and efficiently. Within these parameters we review and retool the steps to best fulfill the needs of each individual assignment.

PHASE I
Strategy & Planning
Our initial step is to confirm your goals and priorities for the web site. Toward this end, we will compile as much information about the site to date. Then we will identify the project’s scope and enumerate design goals, operational parameters and other relevant elements/issues. During this phase we will also validate a variety of basic project criteria, such as key milestones, roles/responsibilities and other process specifics.

PHASE II
Design
Initial design sketches for the web site (presented in limited-function HTML files) will be presented as visual explorations of at least two distinct design directions. For each direction we will present a home page and representative interior pages that illustrate proposed branding, navigation, tools, functionality and content solutions. The goal of this step is to finalize a decision on the site's design direction before moving into content architecture and template development.

PHASE III
Architecture

Based on the results of phases I and II, we will draft an initial information architecture solution for the web site. This usually includes a site map and representative page diagrams (wire frames) showing the content and navigational structure of the pages. Following a presentation and review we will make any necessary alterations. The final architecture will serve as a guide in determining the templates to be created in the next phase of the project.

PHASE IV
Prototype
Using the selected design direction as a guideline, we will produce a working prototype of the web site. In this phase we can confirm that our design and architecture assumptions work, and make adjustments if necessary. We will design and code a specific set of agreed-upon pages to serve as a testing site and present a working prototype to all project stakeholders.

PHASE V
Design & Coding
Using the approved interface design as a model for the look and feel of the site, we will design and code all the templates and pages in preparation to launch the site.

PHASE VI
Implementation
During this stage of the project, we will work with your selected host to transfer completed files for installation on your server.

PHASE VII
Style Guide

Following the delivery of the site we develop a style guide for your site that defines the overall branding and design parameters, page structure, content delivery and a detailed description of every unique template in the site.
